Travel Advisories


  • Stay alert for slow moving construction vehicles and obey posted speed limits.
  • Under state law, fines for driving violations in active work zones (those marked by flashing lights) are doubled.
  • Speeds 11 mph or more over the posted speed limit may result in a 15 day license suspension.
  • Points assessed are doubled for work zone infractions.
  • Some work zones have signs requiring motorists to turn on headlights.

3/7/2010 Nighttime Restrictions on I-476, Chemical, Ridge

Nighttime Lane Closures, Local Road Restrictions 3.7 to 3.12

Southbound I-476 - Mid-County (Exit 20) through I-76 (Exit 16)

  • Reduced from three lanes to two, Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.
  • Reduced from three lanes to one, Sunday through Thursday, 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Periodic brief stoppages 1 a.m. until 5 a.m.

Northbound I-476 - I-76 (Exit 16) through Ridge Pike (Exit 18)

  • Reduced from three lanes to two Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. through 11 p.m.
  • Reduced from three lanes to one, Sunday through Thursday, 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Periodic brief stoppages 1 a.m. until 5 a.m.

Ridge Pike -- Chemical Road to Alan Wood Road (Plymouth Township)

  • May be reduced from two lanes to one in either direction Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning.

Chemical Road - Ridge Pike to Gallagher Road (Plymouth Township)

  • May be reduced from two lanes to one in either direction Sunday through Thursday, 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning
